Today after PE we worked on signing "O Canada" for our remembrance day assembly. Please practice over the weekend.

We had our first awards assembly this morning.

If you are still having difficulty multiplying decimals, please check out the videos under section 2.2 under our math link.

Remember to practice "O Canada" in sign language.

PM Math/Science:

Today in science we learned about environmental monitoring and sampling. We didn't have time to watch the Unit 1, section 3.1 videos. Please watch the videos tonight and read the powerpoint link on sampling.

In Math today we investigated multiplying decimal numbers. Amy gave us a little "short cut"to find out how many decimal places we need in our product (answer). We also used estimation to verify the number of decimal places in our answer.

If you are still having difficulty with this concept, please consider joining Mrs. Kidd at lunch or after school for extra math help! Today's math help group received a lot of extra practice! Good work!

**If you were away the last two days due to outdoor ed, make sure you understand how to multiply decimal numbers (this should be review from last year...see me tomorrow for help if you have forgotten how to do it!) and please print off the 3.1-3.3 science sheets. You only need to complete 3.1 tonight.

In Science today we updated our observations on our Decomposition Experiment. Surprisingly, the bread that was rubbed on the toilet and microwave were decomposing the slowest!!! THE SLOWEST!!!!!

In Science we also continued to learn about the water cycle and carbon cycles. We worked on our Cycles in the Environment sheet in section 2.4. This sheet is homework if you did not complete it in class (the addition of colour is optional).

The RUGBY CUP tournament has begun in PE. Please eat healthy food and get lots of rest!!!

On the last page where you make up your own word problem and then try a friend's you can write one for your parents to do and have them write one for you to try.
In Science we had a preview and discussion on the water cycle and carbon cycle. We had an imaginary journey through time, thinking about all of the places a single water molecule has been. Please visit our Unit 1, section 2.4 under our science link to preview websites and videos for our work tomorrow. Next day we will be working on our Cycles in the Environment sheet.
